this scene made me cry. wait no. this whole movie made me cry. but this scene was i c o n i c. gave me chills. of course, it’s possible for men to love with their heart and soul but i think zaara’s mom was alluding to the fact that us women, have to sacrifice so much for love. we do it in the whim of a second without thinking about anything else if it means that it will make our partner happy. you don’t see a lot of men, especially indian/desi men, doing the same in return. i love the fact that this movie touched on that. such an unspoken topic in indian/desi culture but so SO important to understand.
